Veterinarian
Dr. Joy Courey graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1985. She practiced small animal medicine in the Windsor area before joining the Animal Care Clinic in 1986. Dr. Courey considers herself very fortunate to be as enthusiastic about her job today as she was in the mid ’80s! Her interests are divided equally between small animal medicine and surgery. She lives in the Brampton area with her husband Chris, cat Healy and dog Otis. Joy prefers to spend her leisure time outdoors with gardening, hiking and water sports.
Dr. Courey officially retired in June 2023, however she is still very much a part of the Animal Care Clinic team, and don’t be surprised if you still see her in the clinic, either visiting or, more likely, filling in to cover vacation or keep her incredible veterinary skills as sharp as ever!
